Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Rumo mobile application ("the App"). Rumo is provided by an independent developer based in Portugal. By downloading or using Rumo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Rumo. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Rumo is intended for use by licensed drivers and those interested in driving.

2. Safety Disclaimer — Please Read

• Always keep your attention on the road. Do not interact with the App while driving.
• Navigation, speed limits, speed camera locations, and other data may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Do not rely on them exclusively.
• Never exceed speed limits or drive dangerously. Performance features (such as acceleration timing or cornering data) are for informational and entertainment purposes only and must never be used on public roads in a manner that violates the law or endangers anyone.
• Crash detection and emergency features are provided on a best-effort basis and may fail. They are not a guaranteed safety system and must not be relied upon in an emergency. Always call emergency services directly when needed.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it. You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate others or misuse social features (friends, convoy, leagues, community submissions).

4. Subscriptions (Rumo Pro)

• Rumo offers an optional paid subscription, "Rumo Pro", which unlocks additional features.
• Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account and managed by Apple. Payment is charged upon confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings.
• Prices may vary by region and may change; any change will apply to future billing periods.
• Refunds are handled by Apple according to their policies.

5. Advertising

The free version of Rumo displays advertising. By using the free version, you acknowledge that ads will be shown. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising and consent are handled. Rumo Pro removes advertising.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or to encourage unsafe or illegal driving.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the App or its servers.
• Submit false, offensive, or infringing content through community or social features.
• Use the App in a way that infringes the rights of others.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, and its content (excluding third-party map and road data, and content you submit) are owned by the developer and protected by law. Map and road data are provided by third parties including OpenStreetMap contributors, Mapbox, and Google, under their respective licenses.

8. Third-Party Data and Services

Rumo relies on third-party services and data (see the Privacy Policy). We do not control and are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or content of these services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of data. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data (including navigation, speed, or safety data) will be accurate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including any accident, injury, fine, or damage related to driving. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and the European Union. Any disputes shall be subject to the competent courts of Portugal, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
